IRS mileage rate history
Use the rate for the tax year the trip happened — not the year you file. Charitable driving is fixed at 14¢ per mile by statute, so only the business, medical and moving rates move.
| Tax year | Business | Medical | Moving | Charitable |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2026 | 70¢/mi | 21¢/mi | 21¢/mi | 14¢/mi |
| 2025 | 70¢/mi | 21¢/mi | 21¢/mi | 14¢/mi |
| 2024 | 67¢/mi | 21¢/mi | 21¢/mi | 14¢/mi |

The rate is only half of it
Claiming the standard mileage rate requires a log showing the date, destination, business purpose and miles for every trip, recorded at or near the time you drove. Without those four facts the deduction can be disallowed no matter how accurate your mileage is.
MileWise applies the right rate automatically
Log a trip by voice or odometer photo, tag its purpose, and MileWise applies the correct IRS rate for that tax year and category — then exports a tax-ready summary.
